Plasma Pen Treatment
Plasma Pen, also known as Fibroblast therapy, is the newest treatment in cosmetic surgery that is becoming very popular. It is a noninvasive procedure that targets a wide variety of skin conditions including loss of elasticity, sagging, and wrinkles. Traditionally, these issues are treated with fillers or plastic surgery, however, Plasma Pen is the FDA-approved alternative to invasive procedures.
What is Plasma Pen treatment?
Plasma Pen is the world’s most advanced, non-invasive, skin lifting, skin tightening and rejuvenation device used to treat wrinkles, and sagging dull skin. It is FDA-approved and is used to perform fibroblast therapy. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.
How does fibroblast treatment work?
Plasma Pen converts electrical energy into gaseous diatomic molecular nitrogen and transmits that energized gas in a non-contact way to the skin’s surface from above. This causes a micro-trauma to the skin’s top layer while simultaneously heating and disrupting the deep dermal structure via thermal conduction. This technique is used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.
What areas of skin can be treated with Plasma Pen?
The plasma significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces and regenerates any area of skin. Fibroblast produces excellent results for any area of the body, particularly the face and neck regions. This treatment can be performed in the following areas.
Upper facial: This can include an eyebrow lift, as well as forehead lift for all horizontal lines, vertical lines, and worry lines. Smoothing and lifting hollow temples, crows feet, and frown lines are also available.
Mid facial: Mid facial treatments may include a cheek lift and ear lobe rejuvenation. Horizontal lines, tear troughs, nasolabial folds, accordion lines, and folds are also available.
Lower facial: Lower facials can focus on the mouth corners, jowl/jawline tightening, smile lines, vertical lip lines, and chin augmentation.
The Plasma Pen can treat many other areas on the body besides the face. Other treatment areas include:
Stomachs and stretchmarks
Necklift, turkey neck, and necklines
Thread veins
Legs and knees
Scars
Decollete
Skin tags, blemishes, and hemangiomas
Acne Scars

What can I expect from Plasma Pen treatment?
Below is a breakdown of the procedure and what you can expect post-treatment.
Day Of Procedure
You will arrive at Nourished MedSpa. Numbing cream is applied to the area before the dots are created. The pen will then be used to create dots on the target area. While the pen does not actually touch the skin, the gas emitted will create the dot in the target area. Most people feel a little pinch during the dot process. The procedure can take anywhere between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the desired results and area being treated.
There is little to no discomfort after the procedure, however, the sensation in the treated area may change. It may feel tight and/or numb.
Days 1-3 post-op
Where the pen was used to create dots, there will be small scabs. Most patients report that they do not hurt but may itch as they heal. Dr. Carter will provide products to help with this issue after your treatment. The scabs will lift and darken in color between day 2-3. Do not pick at your skin, this is very important, let the scabs drop off on their own.
Days 4-5 post-op
The tiny scabs from the treatment will fall off and leave tiny pink dots on the skin. At this point, the itching stops. You are now able to wear make-up.
Days 5 and further
The tissue surface continues to heal. However, the production of new collagen is in the beginning stages. By day 7, the average person will see a noticeable difference in the target area. Full results will be seen in 8-12 weeks. Certain health issues and medicines can delay results in some clients.
How long do the results last?
Plasma Pen results last between 2-5 years with an average result lasting 3 years.
How much does Plasma Pen treatment typically cost?
Pricing varies depending on your treatment area. As results last up to three years, this procedure is considered very cost-effective. It’s important to note that health insurance does not cover Plasma Pen treatment because it is a cosmetic procedure.
